2nd OCTOBER, 2013

     Hi there!

We are  the students of 4th year of ESO from the Bilingual Section in the IES Cristo del Socorro, in Luanco, Asturias, and today, we’re going to start a new diary about the Comenius Programme we’re about to begin this school year.

Yesterday afternoon, we were at school like another Wednesday, when the teachers asked us to join in the Computers Room.

There, they showed us a Powerpoint presentation about last year’s school trip to Marne College, in Bolsward, The Netherlands, and they told us that the school had been given the Comenius Programme, in which our group was going to participate. This  is a kind of European scholarship to finance an exchange with a foreign school, and for which we wouldn’t have to pay anything. We thought this was a wonderful piece of news!

They said that in the following two years we would be able to do the school exchange with Marne College, and that this wouldn’t cost anything to us. We found this really important , as many of our families cannot afford the trip at all.

Most of us were very happy to hear this, but there were some students who, at the beginning, hesitated a little bit. Later, they thought again about the opportunity they were being offered  and, in the end, they decided  they would become part of it too.
We really think it is going to be a great experience for us!
